    Child Parenting

Child parenting is one of the most important and obligatory tasks for parents. Babies under one year old can hardly live an adult life. They are just not adapted to it. They do not know how to do many things adults do or do them their own way. Parents need to bring up and their babies all the skills that are common to adults in a very short period of time. Within the first months of life a baby should learn lots of things that will contribute to his further independence.

First of all, the process of a young child parenting is devoted to eating and going potty. As we know, all adults eat using spoons and forks, drink from glasses or other containers, go to the toilet independently and properly. You should start training and educating your baby these important things from an early age, usually from 5-6 months.

A small child needs little food and drink. Within the first months of his life he eats mostly with the help of the breast of his mother or a bottle with a nipple, and it is difficult for him to imagine how to eat and drink in a different way, using uncomfortable spoons and glasses. While getting older, a child requires additional types of food and drink, which cannot be given to him using the bottle he is accustomed to. And it is time to start educating and training a baby to use food tools so familiar to us. It is important that the cup, the baby will be taught to drink from, and a spoon were colorful and attractive to the baby with their type, color and illustrations. Parents need to be patient and diligent while bringing up and educating their children to properly hold a spoon and drink from a cup. It is necessary to teach the baby about the things inconvenient for him gently and unobtrusively, preferably through play. Praise your baby for all his achievements, and do not blame him for the failure.

Once your baby is able to sit, you should start teaching him about the potty rules. While sitting on his potty, your baby will have an opportunity to listen to the music or view the pictures on it and on walls. To keep the baby on his pot, you should need to be near him. Praise and encourage your baby, when he successfully uses the potty or the toilet.

With these simple techniques, you can quickly raise the baby and teach him things, familiar and compulsory for all adults.

Is it worth teaching a child under one year old to be independent?

The child’s personality is being formed by up to the age of five years old, and it will depend on the parents whether their child will grow a shy one, not demanding, not sociable or vice versa.

Baby under 1 year old requires a constant presence of his mother, to be carried in her arms, and the best food for him at this age is breast milk. These are natural and normal baby’s needs, and not his whims!

And at the same time every mother wants her child to grow up an independent person! So it is necessary to teach him to be independent from the first months of life!

Leave him alone for a while during the waking hours (if nothing worries the baby). Of course, if the baby will show anxiety, it is better to take him in the arms, soothe him. Since there is far less view in the crib than in your arms, hang a variety of toys to bate his awakening curiosity. Moreover, it is important to hang toys that squeak, jingle when your baby touches them with his hands or feet. It will not only contribute to the development of visual responses but auditory ones as well. Soon the ability to remember will be developed. Now a new toy becomes more attractive to him, the baby focuses on it longer.

Your baby lie not in your hands because he must learn to lie on his tummy, to roll from back to tummy and backward. When the baby knows how to entertain himself, he will reach to an attractive toy and learn to crawl! At six or seven months old, lying on his tummy, the baby takes balls and rings out of the bucket with enthusiasm, and then throws them back at first with your help, and then on his own. Copying your game, your baby will start to disassemble and assemble pyramids. Of course, the first time everything is not the way it should be, but it is OK! He will succeed gradually. He is trying to put one shaped toy into the other one with the clumsy movements, is building a tower of blocks, assembling a pyramid. Having intrigued by the game, your baby will stay alone without you for a long time, occupying himself independently. The habit to be independent is being developed this way.

But do not abuse it, try to find a middle ground in your effort to take care of your baby.

    Thirst for knowledge

A young child, starting from the first days of his life, sees everything around him. He cannot yet distinguish colors, he sees the type and shape of the objects but does not understand them. Everything in this world is new and not clear for him yet. Within the first few weeks of life a baby is only interested in food and sleep, but while growing he becomes interested in everything around him, he tries to reach the toys with his hands.

The task of the parents in this situation is to start introducing the surrounding world and unfamiliar objects to the baby from the earliest age. It is simple to do and the very process must be natural and easy. At first, you just need to name the items you use with the baby in your daily life. Of course, the baby will not understand your words, but he will get used to the names of the objects and things that surround him. Pronounce the names of the objects clearly and distinctly, so that the baby initially gets used to the correct speech and pronunciation. In order to interest the baby and focus his attention on an object, play with your baby while he is learning about the world. You should know that your baby knows nothing about the world and things that surround him, so be patient and understanding.

Moreover, you should teach your baby to distinguish the shape and color of the objects he does not imagine yet. Special toys of various shapes and colors are very useful for this purpose, with the help of which you can teach your baby to distinguish a ball from a pyramid and a red color from a black one. While playing with these toys, you can talk and tell him about things, their shape and color, you should do it more than once, in a gentle and relaxed form, do not impose learning to your baby. At first, it will be difficult for the baby to focus on learning for a long time, so the cognitive process should not be intensive. Learning about the world is an integral part of an educational process.

As the baby develops and grows, you should complicate the education, and give him knowledge about the various properties of the surrounding objects. Soft or hard, hot or cold – everything must be also taught by letting him touch the objects. It is important to let the baby associate between perception of the objects and their verbal names. He will quickly and easily remember the view of things only this way, and will learn to compare their properties with the words indicating their names.

Besides the direct knowledge, parents educate a thirst for knowledge in his child and the desire to understand the world.

    Cleaning up after himself

    Cleaning up after

We are all know that many adults or young people are very unfamiliar with the process of cleaning up and accuracy, their rooms are constantly in a mess, it is very hard to find something in their things. Such people cause nothing but unpleasant associations. Typically, the disorder in things and objects are accompanied by a mess in the head and thoughts that are difficult to be gathered. These people have difficulties at work and personal life because they have got so used to behave everywhere like that, that they do not notice their flaws that are very irritating to people around them.

All these flaws are the result of the gaps in parenting they received at an early age of their development. Scattered toys and books, a mess in briefcases and bags – all these happen because the parents of these people didn’t develop the habit to create order and cleanliness in time. Even minor flaws can lead to major problems in the future adult life of people who have got used to do thing that way.

In order to prevent such situations, there are some simple rules and educational methods that must be practiced from the first years of child’s life, and that will contribute to his correct education and appropriate attitude to all objects and the things around him.

At first a child should place all his toys, he played with or scattered about the floor, in one container or a place, his clothing must be removed and fold by himself too. Parents who wish their child only good things, should control whether their child follows these rules, encourage and praise him when he cleans-up his toy and clothing areas. Even if the child is doing something wrong or is bothering you with his help, you must stop his desire or berate him for improper help in NO WAY. You must always encourage and appreciate his desire to clean up or help you to do that. But if he didn’t remove his toys or personal items, then you should immediately react to this situation, and you must take a strong position and encourage your child to clean-up the area by himself. Gradually, if you do this regularly and will constantly remind your child to maintain order – this habit will be developed and he will do this without further reminders.

Nevertheless, remember, that if you want to accustom your child to order and cleanliness, primarily YOU must keep your things and area clean and in order. Otherwise, all your intentions will be useless – your child will always copy your actions and attitude to everything. He won’t hear your words if they differ from your actions.

In the next article Child Parenting Part 2 we will discuss such important issues as how to develop good eating habits, how to educate a baby so that he grows up a happy person, how to explain what is right and what is wrong to a baby and many, many other.
